Not That Long Ago!
This short book, written in 1995, by Violet G. Rutter, is one woman's take on growing up in Rural Pennsylvania. It traces her memories, from pre-electricity through modern life.
As her heirs, my sister and I have decided to offer her story, freely, to those who might simply enjoy it.
Written from the perspective of a woman who grew-up and experienced almost all of her long life in the 20th century, it takes a straight-forward look at life in rural Americana.
We deliberately left it totally in her own words and style. Doing that helps preserve the memories and style of the times. This digital version also includes several photos from my father's archives, as well as a couple of my own. They are all presented here in black & white, again keeping with the style of the book.
The book is in PDF format, and should be able to view on any device.

One last note: On the Digital Addendum page, we have added a request. If you enjoy the book, a contribution to the church where Vi and Press are buried would be appreciated. We gave the mailing address for the church. Should you decide to send something, we are not in the loop. Anything donated goes directly to the Cemetery fund. Any questions, please use the Contact Us button. Thanks.
Thanks,
Lex Rutter
